PRODUCT OVERVIEW: The SB-TEK Fuzzy Logic Control Trainer & Temperature Control System (Model SB-FT-T8) is a modern training platform designed for engineering institutes, polytechnics, and technical laboratories to teach and demonstrate fuzzy logic–based temperature control. It allows learners to understand the principles of soft computing, real-time control systems, sensor feedback, and temperature regulation using intelligent algorithms. The trainer integrates hardware, software, safety systems, and hands-on experimentation for complete learning and industrial-level application insight.
SPECIFICATIONS
Hardware Components:
The trainer includes a complete temperature control unit equipped with a 100W ceramic heater capable of operating from 0°C to 200°C. A 12V DC cooling fan is included, operating through PWM control for smooth and precise cooling response. The system features multiple sensors including a PT100 RTD with ±0.5°C accuracy covering 0–200°C, an LM35 analog sensor supporting 0–150°C measurement, and a DHT22 digital sensor for humidity and temperature monitoring.
The control unit is designed around either an Arduino Mega or Raspberry Pi 4 microcontroller platform, allowing flexible experimentation. It includes a 4.3'' touchscreen HMI for user interface and control settings. Communication support includes USB and UART ports for MATLAB or Python integration.
The power supply operates with an input of 230V AC, 50Hz, and provides regulated outputs of 12V DC at 3A and 5V DC at 2A for stable and safe system operation.
Software:
The trainer fully supports fuzzy logic programming and analysis. Supported libraries include Arduino Fuzzy.h for embedded fuzzy logic control, Python scikit-fuzzy for advanced computation, and MATLAB Fuzzy Logic Toolbox for professional-level modeling and simulation. Data logging is supported through CSV and Excel formats using the serial monitor, making experiment recording and performance analysis easy for students and instructors.
Safety Features:
The system includes overheat protection with automatic cutoff at 200°C to ensure safe operation during experiments. A fused power supply ensures electrical protection. All wiring is fully insulated, providing safety for users during handling, testing, and training activities.
EXPERIMENT NAME:
The trainer supports a complete laboratory experiment titled “Design & Implementation of a Fuzzy Logic Temperature Controller”. This experiment guides learners through fuzzy membership function design, rule base creation, fuzzification, defuzzification, data logging, and real-time temperature control implementation
